Winter Solstice

without the dark we cannot have light

welcome to the shortest day of the year

saturday, december 21st

set intentions

We have reached the longest night of the year. Soon the days will slowly become longer, and the warm cozy blanket of night will slowly start to shorten.

We wanted to leave small tokens of our love to help you welcome in the light. Take a matchbook home with you to use in your Solstice rituals. Use a match to light a candle, to burn some cinnamon, to sage your space or to even light a joint.

Presence is gifted to us when we create small pockets of intention and ritual throughout our day. Gift yourself these moments of awareness, and romanticize your everyday life. This is how we create a life of love and amazement from the small day to day we all experience.

Rituals

Here are a few ideas to create some rituals for yourself and some loved ones as we welcome the light back in. Remember, our light shines so brightly because of our dark, too. Without the darkness there would be no light. ❤️

  • Welcome the light back in by doing 108 Sun Salutations

  • Light a candle with your loved ones as you share food, drinks, and memories of the past six months. Welcome the space in as you all light your own candle

  • Make a list of everything that has happened in the last six months as the darkness has settled in - good and bad, small and monumental. Reflect on all that has happened, and give pause to everything that deserves it

  • Write a small poem on what darkness means to you

  • Pull some tarot cards, by yourself or with loved ones

  • Make some intentions for the next six months - what do you want to welcome in as we simultaneously welcome in the light?

  • Write a letter of what you wish to leave behind with the darkness, step outside and burn it

As always, thank you for being here, and for being in community with us. As we reflect back on the last six months for us personally, we are filled with gratitude, love and light. We can’t wait to continue welcoming in more connection as we welcome in more light.

stay funky,
